Here are some pictures taken at the Fall Fiber Jubilee.

Lydia and I went to the Fall Fiber Jubilee at Tall Grass Farms in Delavan, WI. Angora and Pygora goats are raised for their fiber- mohair- and they are shorn twice a year. We got to watch some of the shearing, and also saw some young alpacas, from London Dairy Alpacas in Two Rivers, WI.

The guy doing the shearing learned how to shear in New Zealand. He was pretty quick; each goat was done in 3-4 minutes.

The goats stayed pretty still during the shearing, not really protesting. We were told that this was purely luck. The bucks had been shorn the day before, and that was apparently a different story!

This much mohair came from one goat!

"I used to go with a girl with a face like that."

As we stood admiring the alpacas, several people remarked on the beauty of the alpacas' faces. One elderly man offered, "I used to go with a girl with a face like that."
